Terror On The Tushie

Parker and I are over here today where we are hoping for some ideas to deal with Parker’s Tushie Terrors

Thirty-six diaper changes yesterday. And it is looking like today is going to surpass even that.

This kid’s tush is certainly making up for lost time.

I am so sorry to hear about the Tushy Terror. I hope this gets better soon!

  2. Wahoo! He will be caught up to Esme’s total diaper count in no time at that rate!

  3. The Wiz says:

36!!! Holy cow. Boudreaux Butt Paste.

  4. Stephanie says:

36 is…a lot! Oh boy. By the way, I love the way you share about Parker and your attitude so much! I have a blog award waiting for you at http://www.ralphcrew.blogspot.com.

  5. Amy says:

I have found that Balmex works wonders! I’ve tried others such as Boudreax’s Buttpaste…(that stuff is terrible), and Desitin. The Balmes seems to always clear up my daughter’s sore bum in one to two diaper changes. Also, I’m not sure if this will work for you…but we used to let my niece run around without a diaper to let some air get at it(hers used to get so bad it bled). I swear by Balmex. Good luck ,I hope something work for Parker soon. Having a sore bum is miserable!

  6. Jatina says:

Lanolin works wonders on really horrible diaper rash. Look for it in the nursing mother section. It’s marketed for sore nipples.

  7. Kaci says:

I’m so sorry to hear this. I cannot even imagine his poor little tooshie. I hope this doesn’t last to much longer. I don’t suppose the doctors can give him anything for this can they?

I’ll pray it gets better for you as well

  8. Wendy says:

When Levi was in the hospital and had such bad diarrhea that he had no skin left on his bum, they prescribed Cholesty/Aquaphor 10%. The active ingredient absorbs or deactivates the components in poo that burn, and the aquaphor base provides protection. The stuff is gross, yellow and gritty, and it burns their hineys at first, but it worked magic for us. Good luck!

  9. Poor baby boy :( My son had Thrush Mouth when he was born and had diarriah so bad. It would just constantly poor out and his little butt was so infected, I felt terrible. The doctor gave me something that starts with a D in a purple and white tube. Let me try and find out what it was. It worked quite well.

I hope Parker can get some relief. I have terrible eczema behind my ears and I know how badly rashes hurt. Please give him lots of kisses and hugs for me.

    Love,
    Amy

We still go through this sometimes. Calmoseptine is good but expensive. We buy Desitin by the tub at Walmart/Target. We’ve tried the Cholesty paste made up at the pharmacy (stings a bit). We now put petroleum jelly on the cleaning cloth and then apply Desitin ointment and then apply fragrance free powder. Desitin has 40% zinc oxide which seems to stick the best. You want the paste to stick, not wipe off easily. Hope this helps.

  11. Kate Ousley says:

Happy 4th Birthday, little man. You’ve certainly made us all proud. -Kate
