Teeny Tiny Designer Hiney Update: Saturday Edition

IMG_2827

We let Parker sleep au natural last night hoping the air would help his poor tush. It is less red today, but the areas where his skin has sloughed off are still weeping.

Parker’s surgeon said that it wasn’t unusual after a PSARP for a child to have to be re-admitted to the hospital because of infections and the like on their brand new designer hineys.

I’m determined to make sure that Parker isn’t one of those kids.

For the first time ever Parker is showing interest in our Christmas Tree. He’s pulling off ornaments with the best of them this year.

And we are thrilled.

Because this is one more thing he didn’t have the health or energy to do last year.

Four years ago a kid pulling off Christmas ornaments would have driven me mad. Funny how my attitude has changed.

Little things. They can be magic.

From my Just Because I Love Ya File:

Go. Click. Find a new tradition or two for your family. That’s what I’m planning to do.

And finally:

Ever had a quote just reach out and grab you by the heart?

‘IF YOU CAN’T SEE THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE, POLISH THE DULL SIDE’

It’s as though it were written just for me.

That is a great quote! We can always take some kind of action. And if that seems impossible, we can always pray. I hope Parker has fun pulling off the ornaments!! Go Parker! :)

  2. Kaci says:

I’m glad to see Parker is getting his energy back. That is wonderful news.

I think letting him sleep without a diaper is a great idea. I hope that he starts feeling better in that department.

    Take care

Hang in there Parker! Enjoy the tree! Maybe Preston will be doing that next year and we will be cheering him on! Thank you for sharing the Christmas Blog. It is a fantastic resource! Speaking of traditions, I’d like to share one with you that is new to our family as of last year, but I’m looking forward to it again this year. So much anticipation leads up the Christmas morning and then it seems like it’s all over in thirty minutes with everyone asking “Is that all?” even though there were more than enough presents for everyone. Our piano teacher, mother of seven shared this tradition with me and we had great success with it. On Christmas morning, one person at a time unwraps a gift. If it’s a game, we play it. If it’s clothes, they try it on. If it’s a movies, we watch it. If it’s a book, we read it….or maybe the first chapter. Our piano teacher said that one year they got several movies and had to just watch a part of each so it didn’t take the whole day. We really enjoyed our time together much more last year and I can’t wait to do it again this year.

I wish you the happiest of holidays!!

  4. Finding Normal says:

I hope the new hiney heals soon. Poor boy! And poor mom for having to see him in pain. :(

I love that quote! I’m anxious to see if Addison will show any interest in the tree. Just put it up tonight and will decorate tomorrow. She was watching with interest. I would love for her to yank on ornaments!

Off to check out that site!

  5. Katie says:

A weeping hiney makes ME want to weep! Ouch! I hope that hiney heals up soon.

  6. Hi Parky!! I have missed you sweetie :) What a little doll!!!! I want to hold him and kiss those cheeks so bad! I feel just awful about hte diaper rash :( I hope it keeps getting better!

I can just see that little guy taking ornaments off the tree! I would be so happy too!!!

Thank you so much for sharing the quotes! I think we all need to hear those things sometimes to remind us!

    Much love,
    Amy

  7. JULIE PRICE says:

Have you tried Pinxav for his hiney? It has worked wonders on our little hinies around here. Let me know if you need some – I love the stuff!

  8. Bobbi says:

I’m so happy he is doing better this year! He is so cute. Here’s hoping the rash clears up soon. Poor guy.

  9. Jan says:

    just leaving some Parky hugs!

  10. Michelle says:

Poor Parker hiney! Hoping that he is on the mend soon! And, as far as the tree, Elliot too is so into it this year. Makes me smile. God is good! And, the quote – perfect, just perfect! Christmas hugs to you and sweet Parker!

  11. Lisa says:

So glad he is enjoying the tree.
    How old is he?

  12. mum2brady says:

I love that he is so into the tree :) Brings a smile to my face. Of course the weeping tooshie – owwww – I hate it when that happens – we’ve had that a fair number of times at our house – and it isn’t fun – either for the boy or the momma watching the boy. Praying that the au natural helps and that he gets healed up soon.

    Hugs!
