Making a List and Checking it Twice

That would be a to-do list.

For many this is the traditional big bang shopping weekend.

For us, not so much.

Instead we’ve been checking things off of our ‘zillion and one things to get done’ list:

*Christmas tree up and decorated.
*House decorations begun.
*Last dresser finally painted. (I started this project back in July when my Mom gave me a gc to Home Depot for my birthday.)

Reed is replacing the radiator on the car today. He’s out in the garage yanking the old one out in preparation for the new. Well, not exactly new new. Junkyard new. Which is way less than half of brand new.

Reed is amazing at fixing stuff. Last week he put new brake pads on the car. At 11:00 at night.

He even roto-tilled the gardens today. I planted shallots and garlic.

I’m still working on getting rid of the excess around here. The strange thing though, I’m not a keeper. I’ve always been a tosser. Yet is amazes me how much stuff seems to just appear.

We took a huge load of stuff to a place called Kid to Kid on Wednesday. I figured I’d put the proceeds towards this year’s holidays.

I was incredibly shocked at how little we were offered for our loot. I most likely could have tried to sell it some other way, but I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed with just the effort breathing takes these days and decided to go with the easy.

Parker is packing a bit of ornery today. He’s done so much better recovering from this surgeries than previous ones. I guess he’s due a bit of ornery if he feels like it.

See the pants Parker is wearing? They are UPCYCLED from a thrifted soft and comfy wool sweater.

The legs used to be the arms of the sweater.

And for those of you who have asked about the wooden Holzitger Animals:

Parker only has a few farm animals. Cow. Rooster. Turkey. Turtle. Pig. Horse. And a frog. A guy’s gotta have him a frog. :D

You plant garlic at this time of year? Hmmm. And I’ve always been unimpressed with how much Kid to Kid pays for clothes. But at least it’s something.
