It’s The Day Before….. The Day Before

the day of surgery.

And I’m running around like crazy.

And searching on line for stuff like:

ILEX Paste

Sensi-Care

Calmoseptine Ointment

Because this is available over the counter my insurance company won’t pay for it.

Yeah. We were shocked too. :::::rolling eyes::::::::

But considering the terrible horrible butt rash IA kids get after their take downs I know I’ve got to be prepared.

I didn’t realize that after this surgery comes a stage when a child goes through MANY, MANY, MANY diapers a day.

It’s been suggested that we stock up on disposables. After this surgery kids tend to go through many, many, many diapers. But I cloth diaper because the budget simply doesn’t stretch to include disposables.

No disposable wipes though. Too rough on tender, blistered skin. But I’ve got an excellent supply of cloth wipes to use. So no worries there.

So much to think about.

So much to do.

Today we are taking our Brave Hero up to Shriner’s to pick up his new SMOs. I had hoped to talk them into just sending them down to us, but they can’t do that. They need to be sure that the SMOs are the proper fit, etc. And I understand that. I just hate having to travel up there today when there is so much to do down here.

I’m still hoping to find that million dollar winner’s check in our mailbox. It sure would help with the tanks of gas we are going to be going through this next couple of weeks.

Amongst other things.

There seems to be a lot of hope out there today after last night’s elections. Who knows? Perhaps the trickle down effect will actually work this time. We could use some of that hope right about now.

  10. Kaci says:

Will the hospital not provide you with diapers? Everytime Carson has been in the hospital, they basically tell me to put my diaper bag away. I hate to see you having to keep up on laundry while trying to tend to Parker.

Anyways, I’ll be praying for Parker and please keep us updated. He is going to do great!

I have some calmoseptine ointment samples – could I send them to you? I have four 1/8 oz. packages I picked-up at the last PT convention in June. Email me your address and I send them tootsweet. Can’t help you with the twitter thing, sorry. Prayers ongoing.

Oh, and I follow another blog of a family that includes a child with the MOST sensitive skin – I have read info on their blog that might be useful to you – linked on my site – Kintropy.

  16. Oh Tammy, I didn’t realize that Parker was having a surgery. I’ll be praying for him and your family!

I was stopping by to let you know that I’m hosting the “Holiday Cooking, Blogger Style” recipe exchange again this year, coming up this Friday.

You may not have the time to join me but if not feel free to stop back later for holiday recipe ideas.

  17. Finding Normal says:

Tammy, I wish I lived wherever you live. I would so run around, doing your errands and helping you prep. I’m sure you’re all stressed out, but we always like to lay in Mommy’s bed (even though Daddy sleeps there too, that’s what Noah calls it) the night before a surgery and just be together.
Don’t forget to breathe. Can’t wait to read updates. Many prayers!

  18. Michelle says:

Good luck sweet, sweet Parker! BTW, if a derm happens to script an ointment of sorts following the procedure, holler. One of my clients is a derm and I could get you anything that your heart desires. Many prayers…

  19. MomOf3(4ToB) says:

Just thinking about you all and hoping Parker is already feeling better!

  20. Oh Poor little Parky :( I remember when my son Colton was born and had thrush mouth. He had the WORST rash I have ever seen and had diarriah like every 1/2 hour. I felt so awful for him. I wish I could come and help after the surgery. I hate thinking of Parky in any more pain. Good luck to you all. I love you all and am praying and thinking of you constantly.

    Love and Hugs,
    Amy

  21. Kay says:

Just wanted to let you know I am praying and thinking of your little one a bunch today!

    Kay

  22. Christine says:

Praying for you guys. Wish I had some more money to send your way.

I hope you don’t mind, but I emailed Huggies with a link to this post–basically I asked them to consider sending you a coupon for some free diapers.

Diapering should be the least of your worries right now.

  23. Barb says:

I’m “praying for Parker.” Hard. And you. And the truth is, I’m very excited that he’s having this surgery. Imagine. No more bag!
