Merry Christmas!!!
In all of the books, emails, support groups, hospitals, we have never met or talked to anyone with a child so much like our son as your Parker is.
Our son, Zachary, 3 1/2, has down syndrome, trach, oxygen, gtube, CPAP for 1 1/2 years…age 1 – 2 1/2, breathing treatments (pulmicort…which I saw in Parker’s medicine dish and xoponex), chronic lung disease, AV Canal heart defect(repaired at 2 mos. old), tracheal malacia, ear tubes, he wears a heart monitor when he sleeps and the humidity machine when he sleeps, he wears the same oxygen mask I saw on Parker in one of his pictures.
We too are all too familiar with the PICU at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (Milwaukee), had one Flight for Life incident this past October, 2007 and had 21 hospitalizations for respiratory distress.
If you are interested our personal email is bwjohnstone@wi.rr.com and Zachary’s personal website is http://www.caringbridge.com/visit/zacharyjohnstone
Thank you for sharing your story.
