Four Days and Counting…..

until we are ostomy bag free.

It’s a pretty big deal around here. We’ve waited for what seems like forever for this to be able to happen. There was a time when we weren’t sure that Parker would ever be healthy enough to be able to survive such an invasive surgery.

But, we’ve been blessed on so many levels.

The latest being the news from Parker’s last EKG showing that the pressures in Parker’s right ventricle is lower.

It is one thing to see this on and Echo, but even more golden to see it on an EKG. It takes a while for an EKG to show improvement.

This is really nothing short of a miracle. And we are so grateful and humbled.

Parker will be in the PICU for about a week to 10 days after this surgery.

I’ve talked to so many people who have had children undergo this procedure. Many of them have had pretty rough experiences with it.

But, I believe in miracles.

And I am choosing to believe that things will go well for Parker.

Only four days to go now, you must be very anxious. I sincerely wish your family and Parker all the best. I know he is going to pull through, definitely.
My son was born last year with imperforate anus and we managed to successfully finish all three surgeries by the beginning of this year. He is almost 1.5 years now, and apart from the occasional constipations and a little under weight, he is doing remarkably well. Maybe not remarkably well to many, I do get extremely worried when his constipated and I do mean severely constipated at times; but to me, I thank God very moment for it.
You know what, don’t worry about the procedure, it’s not that bad. We have managed so long and so well with our sons, a week or so won’t put us down. It didn’t bother me and surely won’t bother you.

  3. Prayers for Parker (and the rest of the family) as he tackles this next hurdle.
