We are giving away some great stuff from Discount School Supply today!
Details at the bottom of this post!
This year we are working on teaching Parker the letters in his name. Next year we will do the more traditional upper case alphabet learning.
Pulled out my alphabet stamps from Discount School Supply:
(Did you know that Discount School Supply has a Special Needs section? Oh, yes they do!)
I love how the lower case has blue handles, while the upper case sports red. And notice the little stickers that make it so much quicker to find the letter you are looking for?
Ready to learn!
Almost forgot to show you the over sized stamp pads we use! I’ll use green for the upper case P and yellow for the lower case letters.
Our OT is always complaining that I don’t give Parker enough activities to strengthen his hands by making his ‘fingers pop.’ I know have photographic evidence that I do.
The knobs on theses stamps are perfect for kids like Parker who are still trying to perfect the whole small motor skill thing.

Only the mother of a child with sensory issues would get the greatness of this picture. He’s investigating something that feels different.
And NOT freaking out.
Parker!
(I use these in lots of different activities. This is just one of many!)
By the looks of it, Parker had a grand time with his alphabet stamps and stamp pads from Discount School Supply!

The the legal-eze: I did NOT receive any money for this review. I really use all kinds of stuff from Discount School Supply. Discount School Supply sent me these items for free, because it’s kinda hard to write a review without actually have used the stuff you are reviewing. Oh, and I had oatmeal with raisins for breakfast this morning.
Contest open to US residents only.

Oatmeal and raisins – YUM
ha ha ha
I heart Discount School Supply too! We have used a ton of their stuff both at home and at preschool (L D – the private preschool we went to – uses them for almost all their school supplies…..)
Love that Parker loves doing his name and art projects
Yellow is the new pink……
I haven’t heard of DSS! I must check them out!
Aiden absolutely loves stamping at school! And I love the little handles on those stamps. We’re working on letter and colour recognition right now, so that would be perfect.
Oh, and I’m already following you on Twitter and Facebook. LOL!
these are great and would be perfect for school time. I love that they have both uppercase and lowercase letters.
Parkers button is on Junior’s regular blog but we will add it to our adaptions blog also. http://adaptions4kidz.blogspot.com
These are so awesome. I had never heard of DSS but will pass along this info to my friend Karen. I would love to win and give these to her and her little guy Connor.
Jo
yay!
As a Mom of a few kids with moderate/severe issues I would find TONS of uses for these awesome alphabet stamps! Their handles make them very user friendly both for individual use as well as hand-over-hand exploration. We would be stamping on our sandwiches, in pudding (used like finger paint), and my first thought was stamping on the wall. The stamp pads are wash-able, and I find giving them a medium that is okayed for the wall avoids the crayons on the wall! Thanks for sharing Parker!
I also love that the stamp is clear, so you can help them work on spacing! (My adult daughter just said she’d use them for scrapbooking, because she could space more easily with this feature!)

Well, I would probably do what you’re doing! My son is almost 3 and we’re working on letters too. We can recognize all the upper case ones, but not the lower case ones.

I just “friended” you on facebook… and I forgot to mention, I like your disclaimer too… especially about the oatmeal and raisins!
My kids would love these! We’re constantly trying to find activities that all three can enjoy (and get something out of!) and I think these would be it!
Tammy, thanks so much for this great post!!! Parker looks like he had a great time… What a fun activity idea! Thank you for reviewing the Colorations alphabet stampers and giant washable stamp pads from Discount School Supply; I’m so glad they went over so well. And good luck to all the entrants of the giveaway!

What would I do wit the Stampers? Why, I’d stamp of course!
My girls would love these. And I really like the grip handles. My little special needs man doesn’t have very good control with his hands (and needs hand over hand), so these would be great. Maybe I’d even send them to school so he could “sign” his name.
I’m an aunt to several special needs children. They each have different learning and sensory issues, but I know that we could work on some projects together with these.

Love these stamps… I could really use them to help my little guy learn his letters. I think they would also work great for scrapbooking.
I follow you on twitter @mysteryslc
yay parker!!!! if i had these i would use them to teach my son how to spell his name!
parker’s button on my blog
we pray daily as a family for parker
i follow u on twitter and i tweeted http://twitter.com/agodlyhomemaker/status/7818696483
i sent a friend request on facebook.
These are great! I’m headed to the DSS website now to look at the special needs section. These would be perfect for my boys and I will be checking into buying a set or two. But, if I were to WIN a set, I would give them to the awesome class in our school district that my boys attend. The economy sucks right now and that trickles down to school districts and the first programs that lose money always seem to be the special education departments. I KNOW that my boys class could get so much use out of a set like this and the teacher would be thrilled to have them. All kids love to stamp, right????
Those are AWESOME! Must check them out asap. I would actually give them to my oldest daughter’s class. They are just toooo cool.
I would give to my sister, my niece has Down’s and these could help teach her letters.
I’d love to have these to homeschool my littles! My oldest is turning 4 in a few weeks and would LOVE to play with these. And it’d be a great, tactile way to teach my middle kiddo her letters too.
(And I’m positive I’d come up with something crafty, too)
Following you and tweeted on twitter. @monsterchew
These are great! I need them badly, I’m trying to teach Charlotte to write her name without “wacky capi’s”! These are great! Hi Parker!
These are GREAT and perfect for my lil’ guy Aiden. You can read more about him on my blog but in a nutshell he was born with a very rare craniofacial syndrome that also includes deformities of his hands and feet. He was born with his fingers fused at the tips, which required two surgeries to separate them into 10 beautiful digits.
Because kids with Apert Syndrome are missing a joints in each finger, it makes fine motor development quite tricky. My husband and I (along with his occupational therapist) are always looking for new ways to allow Aiden to adapt and learn how to use his very special hands.
Neat giveaway, I’ve never heard of DSS until now and will check them out. We would use these with our daughter in the same way you use them with Parker. She is 3 and has Down syndrome. I’m a big believer in paying it forward, so when Jess is finished with them, we would give them to her OT to pass along to another little one.
What a wonderful combination of fun and education!! Go Parker!!
I would defenetly use them in my preschool classroom, thanks so much for this awesome giveaway
I would use them in my 3-year-old preschool class (I have 10 students) and with my 2 and 5 year old at home, too! I like the name project, and I like the idea of using different colors for capital and lower case. Maybe more advanced= vowels could be their own color.
my wife wanted me to enter… so I guess I’d surprise her with the fact that I actually entered… She wants them for our two year old son.
I’d keep them for when my grandkids come to visit.
sorry I entered an old email addy… instead please use jensen.kira@yahoo.com
My kids would have so much fun working on projects together.
2 year old grandson would love these. Thanks
ooops I put both in one entry… I guess here is where I say I follow you on twitter. @mysteryslc
Scrapbooking!!!!
I adore Discount School Supply. We’d use them to help spell words — now that the kids recognize letters and sounds, these would make the next step more fun!

Hi Tammy! Love the stamps! We’re working a lot on ABC’s and fine motor skills with Max right now! These look like they would help a lot!
Friended you on FB too!!
I added you as a friend on FB too!
I would use them with my son who needs help with his spelling words
I’d love to use these with my daughter, because we’re thinking of homeschooling for a little while. Plus, they would work great for Scrapbooking too…when I have the time with two little kids
Those are PERFECT!!! Austin would love those. Right now he is learning his ABC’s. I love the handles.
My tweet!

I would love to have these stamps! We are working on letters and tracing them but for Drew, it is tough to create the letters and he gets frustrated. I don’t want his motor skill challenges to frustrate him. This would allow him to stamp his name and create a better understanding of the letters that make it up.
Wonderful idea!
I am also an exceptional education graduate student. I would pack these up and use them in my classrooms as well.
I love to use stamp pads with my classroom. With these items I would let the children explore them freely.
I am a twitter follower and I “tweeted” your give-away!
I am now following you on twitter!
I sent a friend request on face book!
Ummm…. r u my mom?
*Kinsey*
I would use the stamps in my preschool studio where I bring in children a couple of hours a week for preschool activities.
I sent a friend request on facebook – did you have a fan page you prefer I go to instead? You link to me to a friend page:)
Osiyyah gets the biggest thrill out of doing stamps or anything artsy like that. This would help him with learning his alphabet and spelling!
I teach 5k. I’d love these for my kinder kids!

I would use the Stampers and Stamp Pad with my elementary autism class to practice spelling their names and other functional/sight words.
I have followed you on twitter & RT giveaway. My twitter name is techieteacher.
I have added you on Facebook.
I’m trying to teach N uppercase/lowercase letter correspondence. These would be great to use to let her stamp the upper then the lower.
I have 3 boys who I know could come up with a ton of ways to use these stampers. One idea i have for my 2nd grader is he could stamp out his spelling words as another way to prepare for his test!
I sent a request to be your Facebook friend

Your disclaimer made me lol!
I love DSS! Those stamps look awesome. We’d probably use them for learning letters, writing stories and doing scrapbook pages.
Oh, this was so timely!!! I am excited to read about this resource as we are just getting ready to start working with Mattea on her Targeted Developmental Intervention program and I am needing ideas like this!!! (Not to mention my two preschoolers who would LOVE these!) I am off to DSS to see how much many things I can put on my wish list!
(PS- Parker’s button is on our blog and I am heading right now fo facebook and twitter…)
‘Kay! You are anounced on my blog and my Facebook and I tweeted also…
I’ll be teaching letters and colors to our son when we get him home from Ukraine…hopefully by Easter! These stamps should make it much easier fro him to grip.
My Angel had finally been able to deal with mushy textures and the stamp pads would be an awesome for way to get gooey and the letters would help me introduce letters in a super fun way!!
I love this idea! I am trying to teach my almost 3 year old her alphabet. She can pick out letters, but I never thought of putting that skill together with an activity like this! Thanks for the idea.
Those stamps are super cute, and perfect for little hands.
Give it to a friend that really wants it.
