Parker and I have been egg-citedly crafting up an Easter storm
Although, I’m thinking that perhaps Parker could use a bit of a break with the whole egg theme.
Whadda ya think?
Okay, let’s get this show on the road so I can go and hang out with Mr. Personality up there.
Pick out your most favorite colors of tissue paper
Boil some eggs while you cut that tissue paper into small squares.
Spread some Modge Podge or regular white glue on your egg.
Between you and I? That paintbrush is there just for looks. My kid? He likes to take the glue and cover himself, me and the table while covering the egg.
With his hands.
Our art experience went something like this.
Mom: Parker, pick up a piece of paper.
Mom: Parker picked up an orange piece of paper. (As I signed orange.)
Mom: Parker put orange paper ON the EGG.
Parker, that ‘s Mom’s nose. The orange paper goes on the egg, Parker. The egg.
Mom: Yea! Parker put the orange paper ON THE EGG. Now tap the paper on the egg, Parker. Tap. Tap. Tap.
It isn’t hard to figure out that this project took a bit of time.
I was still picking pieces of paper off my clothing hours later.
And out of my hair.
So, I shouldn’t have been so surprised to discover several pieces of paper stashed in Parker’s diaper at his next changing time.
That’s my kid. Always saving a little something for later.
But all in all, it was worth it. The eggs turned out simply gorgeous.
We packaged one up and sent it as an Easter gift to Parker’s big brother, Brant, who is serving a mission in Ca. We included a big ‘ol sign saying do not eat.
Cause a Mom can never be too careful.

hehe. I wanted to see the photo of Mom!
A blessed Easter to Parker and his whole not-eating-eggs family.
If you get the tissue that bleeds you can skip the glue part. Wet the egg, press on bleeding tissue, wait a minute, peel it off. Looks like stained glass, tho some colors work better than others. Baking soda gets the color off hands.
So cute!
Have an Awesome Easter Parker!!! You are a great egg-man!
Oh gosh I did dyed eggs with mine on Good Friday [yes we've been a bit backed up] What a to do. It was actually quite fun in the end for them as well as me, but the mess…….next years that’s a project we shall definitely do outside dressed in bin bags I think. Hope you had a fabulous easter ……..I’m just in the kitchen [as always] waiting to pop the bread in the oven.
Cheers
So cute — Parker AND the egg. He looks adorable, Tammy!
Ha…I totally avoided doing eggs with my 4 this weekend. They didn’t even notice. I have a picture of my 2.5 year old making the SAME face, it is that furrowed brow that gets me… what a cutie.
Our little T21 caboose just turned one..which is how old I always think Parker is b/c he was so little when I started following this blog..and ours wasn’t even a twinkle in our eyes.
What mission is your son in? We live in SF. I know there are a ton of missions but you never know!
Wow, you’re such a great mom. What a fun idea!!! I still have 3 dozen eggs in the frig that never got died. I love his face!
Great eggs! we were boring – just did the whole old fashioned thing. Glue and Brady don’t really mix well
Looks like lots of fun – hope Brant liked his egg!!
