We’re still here.
Just busy.
Getting ready for another year of homeschool.
I’ve been turning lots of stuff like this
and this:
into this:
lots and lots of bottles of dehydrated fruits and veggies!
Today I’ll be picking tomatoes to make pizza sauce with. We are HUGE homemade pizza lovers here.
This weekend will be the start of salsa making season! Quarts and quarts of the stuff will be made and canned.
After a bit of a rough start, the garden not only took off, but over ran it’s boundaries. It’s a total jungle out there! All kinds of vines have grown through the fencing and out onto the banks of our little stream.
You can’t see them in this picture, but there is a bumper crop of pumpkins hanging out and getting orange-r by the minute.
I’m not complaining, mind you. I’m thankful for such a bounty.
It’s just been keeping me really, really busy.

Your garden looks awesome! And you MUST share your salsa recipe. I love homemade salsa, just doesn’t compare to the store bought junk. My kids love it too so I would love to can some this year.
When it’s time to make it I’ll post it, k?
Please also post your pizza sauce recipe. I tried to make pizza sauce one time and it was YUCKY. I love home made pizza but have to resort to canned sauce. i would LOVE to be able to make my own!
Wendy I used this one:

It was good.
I cooked my own tomatoes down to a paste instead of using canned tomato paste. But I bet it would be good with the canned stuff too!
As a matter of fact I think from now on I’ll just make it from paste. It took all day to get one batch done, and that was after draining my tomatoes, etc.
erg.
Thanks! I am going to try this asap.
